line 6 expression pedal-- TRS or 1/4"??

a quick question...
i just got a line 6 expression pedal used, it didn't come
with a cable to attach it to my new DL4. it has an input
jack, as well as a covered-up output jack. should i use a
normal 1/4" cable to go from the expression pedal to the
DL4, or a TRS to TRS cable?
