I am still looking for my solution. Right now, I am using to one degree or another a heavily modded traynor from the late '60's. It is a beatiful sounding rock amp. I am not really a rock player anymore. Direct was a terrible idea. the lag from the moniters drove me nuts. i'm one of the few players who request no moniters at all in a live context. I can't deal with multiple sound sources of stage each with a varying degree of delays(from my amp to the moniters at most clubs is about 50ms-100ms, death for a looper) on them.. So, at this point I am looking for a Preamp(thinking the new korg one as the Fender and Vox emulations are really nice, and I don;t really need additional effects), a power amp, and a 2x12 cab to finish it off. and running that in stereo with a 1x18 peavey keyboard amp..... God my back will hurt. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Greenstein" <paul@ubiq.co.uk> To: <Loopers-Delight@loopers-delight.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 31, 2004 11:08 AM Subject: live looping amplification etc. > I posted several weeks ago about problems with trying to run my > Repeater through a Mesa Boogie combo - lack of volume control, noise > problems etc. A few people replied with the general consensus being > that looping and tube amps do not mix well. > > Anyway, I've managed to finally come up with a system which works well > both for 'normal' playing and for looping purposes, so I can be at > least reasonable versatile+portable (without spending ridiculous > amounts of cash).
