Re: Steve Lawson's "For The Love of Open Spaces" CD

Thanks very much Ted, I'm really glad you're enjoying it! Theo sounds very
little like your traditional flautist on this recording, and Alto Flute
makes a great texture for soundscape stuff. Coupled with his soprano
playing, I think it makes for pretty compelling stuff. I'm still listening
to it, which is a good sign... :o)

cheers!

Subject: Steve Lawson's "For The Love of Open Spaces" CD

Hey all,

I finally broke down and ordered this disk from CD Baby
a week or so ago. It arrived the day before yesterday
and has hardly left my CD changer. It's such a beautiful
collection of improvised tracks -- duets of looped bass
and flute/sax. I have Steve's previous two disks (one of
solo bass and one of bass/piano duets) and enjoy them
too. But this one is truly marvelous. I'm afraid to admit
that I held off getting it 'cause I'm not a big fan of flute
music in general. But, I highly recommend this to anyone
who appreciates great musicianship and real melodies.

Best,
