I own a GR-300, and have to say that it makes the "Roland saw wave". every Roland synth has the same tone to it's sawtooth wave, a Wave Processor coupled with something like a Moogerfooger MF-101 would give you 70 percent of the GR-300 sound ... an Eventide for pitch shift and vibrato would give you another 15 percent. the last 15 percent is the mystical quality of the 300 itself. also, hex-fuzz is important. i guess my bottom line is that i just don't think that the Wave Processor sawtooth is bad at all. and, that all Roland sawtooth waves sound the same. --- Eric Williamson www.suitandtieguy.com
