Does the limiter work on the new (black) EDPs then?

On my beige models ( last UK production run) you can
tell there's a limiter, but it doesn't prevent distortion at all.

(I even thought about removing it to improve sound quality)

Matthias mentions it being useful (somewhere on LD I think),
  so I guess it worked on earlier models
at some time.
