  Actually sound affets the whole body,so humans can perceive sound with 
their skins as well. There is simeone who gives concerts where the 
audience 
is in the pool,with the speakers.When I lived in Hawaii,the 
nuerophysiologist , and dolphin researcher Dr.Micahel Hyson was planning a 
program to place hydrophones in the water to  set up communicationlinks 
between wild and captive dolphins.We had great plans to play music in the 
pool. We did experiment with playing water music.I found out that in the 
Senagal ,Gambia  women,when preparing for a big feast take their calabash 
bolws into the river and play tunes on thmeas they float up side down.An 
old 
tradition apparently.
