Wal warts can just up and fail sometimes. I recall being told that if an adaptor has extra milliamps relative to the device that is not or tends not to be a problem. But if you are running a 350 milliamp device off a 250 milliamp adaptor then you begin to get issues like heat generation - probably will kill the adaptor after awhile but may also fry the device.
