re: portable recorder advice......



I had concidered the CoreSound package, but found that
for a similar price, I could get the new Marantz
PMD671.
It is my personal opinion that a PDA based system will
only function well, as long as there is support for
the PDA's of the world, and from MY research, that
support is declining. (note: I do believe the
CoreSound will work in a laptop enviroment as well.)
There ARE some glitches with the Marantz too, see the
links below.

Remember, there WILL be other accessories needed in
most any portable system, so add the$e co$ts to the
base-price for any unit. Depending on the unit, some
of these (necessary?) extras are:

Extra rechargable battery(s)
Battery charger
More/bigger memory(media)
Cables
Mics?
Carry case
......??

...and if down-the-road you find yourself wanting to
use more than two mics, save up for a portable mic pre
and/or mixer and better headphones. This all depends
on your intended use.
