Re: carry ons & gear AND a letter to help get things into thecabin
Title: Re: carry ons & gear AND a letter to help get things into the cabin
For the record, I’ve had my butt saved probably 5 times over the past year with this letter... The other 40 nobody gave me any grief... I have a big computer bag, a violin and either an FCB1010 in a bag or a two space rack case. (granted, that’s too much anyway..,)

In the USA, if you are traveling on a plane, it's likely you can get some hassles about taking your musical equipment in the cabin.
I have a PDF of a letter from the US Dept. of Transportation from Jan 17, 2003 that you may do well to carry with you. Basically the letter states that in additon to one bag and one carry-on, people can take into the cabin one instrument.
Probably a good idea to print this letter out and have it with you when you board the plane...
In my next e-mail, I'll try attaching the PDF document so everyone can have it. If if doesn't stay "attached" please send me an e-mail and I can forward copies individually to those you want it.
