it just so happens that Rolnd has finally come out with a stand alone CD recorder burner with mic preamps and CFC data storage, I believe its called the CD1 but I'm not sure.  It ain't cheap but would represent a potable non compressed recording solution that isn't tied to your DAW. great hanging with you in Zurich bro, next stop San Antonio.

Hello everybody,
 
                I'm looking for a replacement cd burner for my Yamaha AW16G hard drive recorder. Supposedly it's proprietary, so you can't just slap any laptop burner in. Yamaha wants $500 for a new one.
    Any suggestions for a work around? please e-mail me offline concerning this.
