Sure, the major software vendors aren't going to be any more responsive

than Roland.  But with the possible exception of Ableton Live, the majors

don't make looping software.  So if you want a looper, you will

have to turn to "boutique" developers, and for the most part they are

as responsive as boutique hardware vendors. 

 

The main difference is that you can't sell looping software for $1500

so this may occasionally affect their attention span.
