You already have a Boss VF-1 which would be my first choice. Old Boss SE50
and SE70 can do quite a lot.

I'm putting my new three-space soft rack together, the bottom space of 
which
is waiting for my Looperlative. On the top two spaces, I have my Boss VF1
(for tone mangling), Lexicon LXP1 (for reverb), and my Lexicon LXP5 (also
for tone mangling). Now, what the heck to I put in that third half-space
slot? Any ideas? What units out there pack a lot of cool effects into a
half space? I wish they made the Line 6 Filter Pro in a half-space, or
better yet the electro-harmonix micro guitar synth.
