Liddel is def. using MAX/MSP.  I have a fellow MAX/MSP-looping friend in 
common.  There are severeal variations of essentially the same 
multi-channel looping patch floating around out there;  each user 
basically customizes the features.  AFAIR loops can be synced to internal 
clock, offset shifted, loop windows opened, pitch adjusted, etc.  There 
are some popular MAX objects which have contributed to the spreading of 
these capabilities.
