I'm no hardware expert, but I'd look at the Gibson Echoplex Digital Pro
I know it does all you want. If you ask around on this list, there may
be one or two up for sale. If you want to do multiple loops with
separate volumes, etc., you'll have to look at the Looperlative or go
the laptop route. The Boomerang might also work. I believe it does
Verse/Chorus type "Or" loops, but I don't know if it has a multiply
function for laying longer loops over shorter ones. The Repeater might
also be cool to use with a DJ since I hear it has some pretty cool
time-stretching capabilities, but beyond that I don't know any of it's
functionality. Other people on here might be able to make other
suggestions.
Also, be aware that I believe most of the hardware loopers out there
are mono, not stereo.

Also, it´d be cool to go stereo, but
as far as I know, the RC-50 is the only that would go stereo, and RC-50
is not a choice now. All others I guess would cost me double to do so.

first was really to have info from you guys who own or have owned
and performed live with models like RC-20, RC-20XL, JamMan,
Boomerang, Akai Headrush....the standard units, cause I´ll probably go
for one of these. Also, it´d be so cool learning with you people who
have performed with a DJ, in a "live" experience. That would really
make clear which features can not fail, or must be reliable at all.
See, at this point it´s about
getting the coolest/best individual unit, so that I can perform a very
reliable/creative gig with the DJ community and/or a stand alone act -
have in mind I would go for the RC-50 before reading web reviews about
it, so it´s not all about saving a few bucks.
Also, the DD-20 and LINE 6 DL4,
I wouldn´t consider using them as a looper unit, as I think it´d be a
limited choice for a serious looper. Now thinking it as a delay unit,
again from you actual or past owners, what about the features, sound
quality, ease of use of each one, which is the best?

Have we ever discussed the difference
between a looper and a long delay? Methinks a looper can store a few
audio loops, can start, stop, restsart and/or continue on command, and
can "undo" one or more levels of looping. A long delay won't do these
things, but will have a feedback function so loops can fade away as new
material is added. Any more differentiating features?
I ask this because I'm reading this

I´m also new to this
community, been playing guitar for 15 years now and have been invited
by some DJs to perform live with them. Obviously I need a looper, and I
was just about to go and get a RC-50 , but that was before I read
reviews on harmony-central, musiciansfriend.com, loopers delight,
etc.....I was excited about going stereo, having 3 phrase tracks, such
long recording time......bla, bla, bla...........but as I would have it
mainly for live performances, just put it aside for this moment.
RC-20XL is mono, seems to
degrade sound quality as more phrases are added onto previous recorded
ones, has the 2 seconds pressed pedal waiting time to change
recording/dubbing functions......sounds not pro enough.
Also read a lot about some
little issues on Digitech JamMan, Boomerang, Electro Harmonix 2880,
etc.......even the Gibson Echoplex Digital ProPlus got bad reviews.
Sincerely....I got lost in
the middle of everything, so it got cloudy for me to define what should
I buy at this moment, what will give me condition for a reliable and
creative live performance, and also be a smart option regarding the
cost X benefit X technology X quality issue.
