What one are you using, Jeff? Man, they have a ton of those black boxes. 
So 
I gather you are saying that I could use the one Jeff recommended, or even

I have a different MIDI solutions box, and they are usually
programmable.  You should be able to assign the MIDI channel you
want for the CC messages it generates.  If you don't want Mobius
to respond to it, just pick a channel or CC number that isn't
bound to any of the Mobius controls.
