Sorry to hear about such problems, I know it is frustrating with new juicy software just out of reach. I checked thru my emails from Ableton and the only thing I can find is that they changed their website and then sent me a registered user login for the site when I got 5.2. It says that if you are a registered user you don't have to mess with inputing serial numbers. Everything was automatic for me on the upgrade with an email receipt from the webstore showing purchase of 6 for free and new serial number.
