Howdy,
 I have been through this. STRONGLY recommend, an EQ,
light compresion/limiting, and A BBE MAIMIZER MODEL
362NR!!! Removes hiss, shines up cassetteslike you
wouldn't believe. No longer made but cheap on e-bay.
