Interesting, I have not heard of this issue. I know that Jeff Kaiser is using an older mac with a firewire interface (Fireface 400), and he's somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to his sound, with the trumpet being his main audio input and all. He's never commented on any latency problems. Of course, he's using max, so that could be a factor, but I'm not sure.
