I'm not sure exactly which of his sounds you're looking for, but a cheaper solution to the sustainiac is a good old Ebow. Make sure you've got a real or virtual volume pedal before your echo/reverb but after your fuzz/distortion. Add a harmonizer that's got a way to control pitch and feedback in real time (a midi control pedal will probably be needed) and you are on your way. The Boss VH-1 (which I always promote) can do most of these things and can be found cheap on ebay. $200 or so. -----Original Message----- From: Per Boysen [mailto:perboysen@gmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, August 14, 2007 1:47 AM To: Loopers-Delight@loopers-delight.com Subject: Re: Fripp - sound?New soundscape to download On 14 aug 2007, at 09.07, Chris@jtc.de wrote: > Hi, > QUESTION: Does anyone know how I can get a similar etheric, spheric > sound like FRIPP, when > he is doing his soundscapes. You may also experiment with turning down the high frequencies, either by rolling off the top on the Big Muff or by the tone knob on the Les Paul, or a combination. The fuzz box will treat the signal differently depending on the guitars tone knob setting. Greetings from Sweden Per Boysen www.boysen.se (Swedish) www.looproom.com (international)
