Someone has already created a Reaktor patch that does a decent Fripp emulation. Fun! Here's what I think is funny. There are billions of guys who spend most of their time trying to emulate Robert Johnson, Jimi, Eddie and no one says anything. Fripp ripped off Mahavishnu era McLaughlin (he admitted it) but no one said a peep. Why? Haven't we all tried to emulate our musical heroes at some point? The way you miss is what makes you yourself. As far as Fripp goes, I wasn't a huge fan of the last King Crimson outing, but The Construktion of Light was an amazing effort for some old geezers. Have other prog rockers kept it going as long? Listen to the last Yes album if you really want to see people who've left behind creative endeavors. -----Original Message----- From: Krispen Hartung [mailto:khartung@cableone.net] Sent: Tuesday, August 14, 2007 12:46 PM To: Loopers-Delight@loopers-delight.com Subject: Re: Fripp - sound?New soundscape to download Sorry, I know...I'm a smart ass. I'm half tempted to create the max patch though. I'll call it the Random Fripper-Soundcapes Generator, for those who slavishly and adoringly seek to emulate what Fripp has since left behind to pursue other creative endeavors. The world is never too short of music genre curators. There is plenty of room for all animals in the looping zoo. Kris ----- Original Message ----- > :-)) Ouch!
