Marc Johnson's Bass Desires did 2 albums on ECM, the first self-titled and the 2nd is, appropriately enough, "Second Sight." Both awesome. Coincidentally, I was just transcribing Samurai Hee-Haw from the 1st album for a gig this week, and marveling at Frisell and Scofield's interplay. There's a version of Resolution from "A Love Supreme" on the first album that is simply perfect. > the album is called "second sight" and it contains a very very slow (but > also very groovy) song called "sweet soul", composed by peter erskine, >the > drummer. > wonderful. > i used to wake up every morning to this song for about a year. > a good year. > > tilmann > ----- Original Message ----- > From: midifriedchicken@comcast.net > To: Loopers-Delight@loopers-delight.com > Sent: Tuesday, August 14, 2007 11:45 PM > Subject: Re: Another music recommendation :-) > > > If anyone can ever find the Albums Frisell did with Scofield, I believe > the band was called Bass Desires, get them.
