You need to match levels and impedance between the mic and what the RC-2 expects. Someone else can explain this better than me, but I think the short answer is that it won't sound good. I think there are in-line line matching thingys that *look* like adapter cables -- I'm no expert. I just like answering questions. Let someone else correct my understanding.
