But the Firwire has to convert the audio from my computer back into analog 
and send to the output, right?
So don't I get at least one stage of conversion? Also, I'm not worried 
about 
the VF1. The specs on that
unit aren't that bad, and it's doing to sound better than some of the 
other 
solutions I was considering which
introduce all sorts of noice into the signtal path.
