It does seem to me that you could be experiencing a bad patch cable. If it's the input/output connectors that should be quite easily resolved with a quick dose of contact cleaner. The DL4 is a really nice and would be much nicer if the looping time was expanded with digital time readouts. One other thing though the footswitches are espicially prone to failure. Mine needed replacing just after 3 weeks...bought new. Another thing to note if you do use the polarity reverse adaptor jack for use with a One Spot Power adaptor to plug into the DL4's power jack. These adaptor jacks are prone to failure if bent too much too often. I've also modded my own DL4 to resolve the slight volume drop and darkening effects of the bypassed tone. Good Luck.
