I believe the effect Greg is referring to can be heard towards the end of Tommy Bolin's solo on the song Quadrant 4 on Billy Cobham's album 'Spectrum'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbLjObdYWhQ The effect can be heard about 2-1/2 minutes in and again at the end of the guitar solo... This recording has always a reference point for me for masterful use of feedback and delay. It's similar to a runaway analog delay, and I'm still not 100% sure that's it's just an Echoplex because it seems like it would require at least two hands to change the regen level and speed controls - not to mention that Bolin uses it to close a burning solo. One thing that I can say fer sure, tho - put that in a box and I'm there! Dan Ash White Plains, NY > Subject: > Re: Anybody see this?
