Wow, RIP. I am a HUGE Weather Report fan. His tune "In a Silent Way" is so beautiful. I always think of the version of this tune on the "8:30" album as being something to aspire to as far as using synths expressively and dynamically. He made them breathe.

If you haven't listened to the band Tribal Tech, check them out. Their keyboardist Scott Kinsey is a keeper of the Joe Zawinul flame.
