On further reflection, I certainly don't have an issue with a performer triggering prerecorded samples or clips as an instrument, but having static "backing tracks" is less fun for me. If there are active backing tracks - ones that respond in some way to what's being played - that makes it a whole different ball of wax for me (but of course, that's rather rare).
