this is definitely not OT...but it's also not the most serious of topics
either! This evening, I decided to give my 28 month old twin
(Tristan) his first shot at looping. I plugged an SM57 into my Boss RC-2,
and then into a cheap Epiphone battery powered amp with some distortion.
I hope you get a real kick out of this. I laughed my ass off. I could only get
so much out of him, because of the competing balloons nearby and after a while
he became bored of my simple setup. :) It's
amazing how fast toddlers learn. After 1 minute of watching me operate the
RC-2, he had already figured out how to turn on the drum guide beat and stop
the loop, restart, etc. And of course, if you know 2 year olds, after
that he wouldn't let me touch the gear, but insisted on being the one
to control the knobs, unplug wires, and basically mess things
up. And
then the whole feedback thing with the mic was totally his own doing. He's
never seen that done...an experimenter at heart! Kris ************************************************************************** |
