I haven't heard Hassell live for a long time now, but what amazes me about the guy is that he sounds "like Hassell" acoustically. Ie his sound is not mainly about "electronics". I especially like the way Hassell plays both minor and major thirds in melodic lines. And of course his beautiful way of working with the macro impact of scales, melodies and attitudes - as opposed to working particularly with a scale, a melody or an attitude. BTW, looping is a great tool for learning that "musical split vision" (playing with really good musicians, or a master teacher being the traditional way to learn it) Greetings from Sweden Per Boysen www.boysen.se (Swedish) www.looproom.com (international)
