I've had this for about two years and did a lot of searching. All I could come up with is Lori made some strat type copies. I know I have seen these older ones around but I'll be damned where. One guy on HC wrote they're built in Japan, "either at the Matsumoku or Ibanez factory" but I'm an Ibz freak and never heard of these at Hoshino. The punchline is I got this from an Engineer with too much money and too much time on his hands. He had a Jimmy page fetish so he put about $150+ in upgrades into it getting all new Gibson humbucker mounts, pickguard, all new pots, the Dimarzio and redid all the wiring. Then he got a Gibson for a "steal" ($2k he hold me) so he sold this one. I got it set up for recording but only have jammed in the basement with it. Since I have an Ibanez fetish and found two axes of joy this year I figure it's time to share the wealth. I priced it super low for what it is but I figure most folks won't know this sleeper so that's a price I'd be happy with if it got to a good home. Anything less and I'll continue to enjoy it for many many years to come myself :) > I love these old MIJ guitars (I have 1/2 a dozen of them.)
