I think there are some very good articles at harmony-central about  
MIDI. You should probably read those. I think there's also a good  
book called (simply) "The MIDI Book". I'll double check the title,  
but you might want to do a search in the meantime. Sorry I can't help  
with that particular controller, but for MIDI basics, those resources  
should help a lot.
