Hi, I'm remembering the Korg X911 (I think) that Mark mentioned above as well as an early 80s Roland rack-mounted pitch-CV synth module - as already said, these were not MIDI. I'm dragging my memory now and also remembering a Fairlight pitch to MIDI unit called something like the VoiceTracker. As a wind player I tried the Korg and Roland units with the flute, but then moved onto MIDI wind controllers and away from trying to track the real sound.
