live looping and pre records are 2 different things. live looping by definition doesn't include pre-recorded material. That's the whole point. on pre-recorded material: a lot of big acts use re records to fatten their sound. when I worked with nine inch nails they had me sing 10 doubles of myself that got played back with the band. the drummer was playing to a click that sped up and slowed down. wild controlled chaos stuff... to great effect because Trent knows how to do it. personally, I don't judge how people make music, I judge the music itself. if the pre recorded material helps the performance be more amazing and appropriate to the music, then it's GREAT.
