I totally agree! but I'm actually coming at this from a completely different angle. Being visually impaired, believe it or not, most audio recording / effects processing software on the Mac is currently notoriously bad at being accessible with the Mac screen reading software. So, for me, unfortunately, hardware is still the best option. So essentially, this rules out all sorts of audio plugin options and such for looping, effects, etc. So my concern with a software based EDP (though I'd love it) would be that it may either rely on current audio packages or follow in the same paradigm for relying on ultra custom GUI controls that VoiceOver cannot see. My hope would be that any visually impaired looping musos wouldn't be locked out of what would be a really terrific step forward for the EDP looping paradigm! :) I for one would love to beta test such software if it happens, Not only to avoid that kind of situation, but also just because I personally would love to go virtual as it were, rather than having gear to think about. Thanks so much for the updates, All!… Have an awesome evening!… Smiles, Cara :) On May 28, 2008, at 1:23 AM, Dave Gallaher wrote: > I haven't planned on switching from hardware to software, hauling a > dedicated laptop to gigs.
