Hi David and welcome to the wonderful world of looping.  First question is 
what instruments will you be using?   Will you be looping voice?  Looping 
itself doesn't require a specific type of amplification.  Instead you need 
to look at what your needs are for the performances that you will be 
doing. 
Solo guitar would likely require different equipment than guitar and 
vocals.
