Correct. But "real-time" may also refer to the musician's sampling action, meaning he/she is recording the sound on the spot as it happens. In this regard the "real-time" is just a way of stating that samples used in the performance were not recorded in advance. If talking "sampling" I think the term "live sampling", popularized by Mixmaster Morris, is better.
