This is the same method I use and it works
easily. Since I use a Tonelab rather than an amp, the hookup is very simple to
tweak, and the sound is hi fi and full range through the Bose L1. I use a
PorchBoard bass (www.porchboard.com ) for
a kick drum sound, also routing it through so it can be recorded while laying
down a guitar track (or a bass track if I send the guitar through the EH Micro
Pog octave pedal).

keyboard?
GTR-->Channel 1
Aux 1 send-->EDP input
EDP output--> Channel 2
You could put your synth on Channel 3, and send it to the EDP via Aux1,
etc. Just be sure to never turn up the Aux 1 send on the EDP Channel 2,
or it's a feedback loop.
The Aux return is empty.

Oh, good lord :\
I'll have to think about this some more.
So, you sent guitar to channel 1, put the edp in the effects loop, and then
sent the looped sounds to channel 2? I'm a bit confused as to how you completed
the effects return/send and then put that into a new channel. Did you have an
effects loop for each channel?
