I forgot about this tip, although it's not Mac specific. If want to put some time into building environments in Max/MSP there is, since one week ago, a very good time/speed conversion algorithm available, the Elastique. Elastique can be used as an object in Max. With Elastique you should be able to create for example the Electrixpro Repeater functionality on a laptop. Elastique is used in many applications already, among them Ableton Live's Complex Time Stretch Algorithm. Here's a good article: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2008/10/28/elastic-pitch-speed-control-module-for-your-max-5-patch/ If you're interested, there's a lot of useful info to get from reading the discussion posts after the article. And here's Elastique's home page: http://www.zplane.de/index.php?page=description-elastique -- Greetings from Sweden Per Boysen www.boysen.se (Swedish) www.looproom.com (international) www.myspace.com/perboysen www.stockholm-athens.com
