I don't know. I've found that when listening to FM radio, turning up the volume in an attempt to hear individual instruments has the opposite effect - things get muddy or "out of focus" if you will. Turning it down, seems to help, plus it reduces ear fatigue. However, the best solution is turning off the radio off altogether!
