I had replied to this privately but someone with the initials KLOBACHAR asked if I was gonna answer. So i'll reprint this by popular demand. "Hey Rune, Well, lets see. I watched the whole video on my computer, and i thought it's too long. I then picked up my Fernandes guitar w/sustainor pickup system. i just started trying to find a good violin/horn/singing tone of some kind using the Zvex Fuzz Factory as the base. I ran that into the Digitech Bad Monkey to tame it a bit cause the FF is not easily controlled. I tried swelling in the tone I got with a volume pedal before the FF but that didn't work because of the gate function on the FF. So I used another volume pedal after the distortion. That was the whole key. i could then swell in the full bore effect, mostly i kept the volume way down with the pedal but I had lots of headroom. Next I used a bit of reverb from a Didgitech Hardwire digital reverb pedal. I then sent all that into a Line 6 DL 4 analog delay model with the repeats set to almost runaway, almost too much. i tapped in a multiple of what I felt was the "tempo" to a Boss DD 20. I then knew I would have to stop it so I put another volume pedal after the delays. This all happened real fast. I hit record on my pc running Audacity minimized it and started Dr Ts silent vid. I just started slowly playing trying to maintain control of the after distortion volume pedal. i had more volume availiable than I needed and at the loudest point it actually overloaded something in my chain a bit so a narrow escape there. i found that if I shake my finger it starts the FF oscillating. Anyway right around when I thought would be the end I used the last volume pedal and faded it out, left some silence then swelled in the long ending. i was about 20-30 sec too long so I used Audacity to trim from the silent spot I left in at the end before the final swell. The only pc processing I did was to normalize the wav and trim it from the silent part to 9:23. the length of the movie. I renderd it in Sony Vegas." Dr T said that at first he thought "too droney" but it grew on him. I thanked him for allowing me too use his vid. more than you wanted to know I'm sure, Jeff update, He (Dr T) asked for the wav file so he could make a full quality version, I'm thrilled! ----- Original Message ----- From: "rune fagereng" <rune_fagereng@yahoo.no> To: <Loopers-Delight@loopers-delight.com> Sent: Sunday, January 18, 2009 5:00 AM Subject: Re: (with the links this time) 3 silent videos on You Tube and call for collaboration.
