The reason is that I use the looper to change tempo often and sometimes in big steps to go double, triple and half speed. If you loop mostly by keeping the looper at the same tempo Live may not have a problem to follow without crashing. But you would still have a problem now and then with Live's way of smoothing the tempo: if you are unlucky live interprets your looper's tempo of 79,7 BPM as 80 BPM and if you then are running long loops you may suffer drastic "bumps".
