In short, i dont think that way. We've already talked about playing horizontally vs. playing vertically. That´s the thing with a fifths based tuning. 

What i cant deny (if there´s an "ability" lost) is that of playing closed voicing chords (not sure if that´s correct in english). Of course, there´s a lot of beautiful ones just by using open strings but not so transposable along the fretboard.
