just wanted to chime in on my 2 cents on the lexicon mpx100- i bought mine back in like '01 when i read that bill frisell used one in his home studio, saw that they were 199$ at the time, bought it. worked for about 2-3 yrs or so, then MINE DIED!!!! i sent it in to Lexicon to have it fixed (something w/ the inputs couldn't take big overloads or something-i'd read they have a low headroom), just didn't trust it after that, so sold it. over the next few yrs i missed the things it could do (reverbs, pitch shift, delays, etc). so last fall, decided to look for something to replace my old mpx100, b/c i did like the reverbs so much. found a newer lexicon mx200 online for 100$, couldn't pass it up. it's been working great (knock on wood or whatever). it seems to be a nice up date on the mpx100, it also has hook up to computer and use that editing stuff, but i just use it as stand alone unit. but it is funny i've read a few other reviews recently that bill frisell still uses his (i think), and there was another big studio guitar player (can't remember his name), that he used an mpx100 in his rack also. so i guess for the big players, it still keeps on ticking. mine shot craps. oh well. but i do like the mx200. my 2 cents, s--- www.myspace.com/scotthansen http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=235503632389016121 http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5791548553161416906&hl=en |
