Help with mixer-interface-laptop setup

Hi,

I was wondering if any one can help me with this.

I've been trying to use my Yamaha MG82cx to send audio to my Edirol UA-1EX
interface and on into my laptop. It works OK except I can't seem to 
eliminate my original sound from the output, so I end up with a ghosting
type of sound. I have direct monitoring turned off on the interface so I'm
thinking it's some routing option on the mixer that I'm overlooking.

I had a Mackie 1202 before and I think I used the Alt3/4 for this.
Do I need to get another?
