Thanks for the kudos.

So, first some basic terms:
- LOOP SYNC ensures that all loops have the exact same length + start/end 
point. This is set globally via button you have found.

- TEMPO SYNC ensures that the loops are quantized according to the current 
running loop (not necessarily same length, though). You have to turn it 
on/off for each of the three PHRASES (=loops) in the RC-50.
This is usually what people want in MULTI MODE and the tricky part is you 
don't see it immediately. You only see it when you have a loop already 
running that has set the tempo and then a light (I think a green LED 
indicating something like "quantize") tells you that.

So you might rather want to experiment with the TEMPO SYNC for your 
purposes.
