I think this was the projector (the price varies from week to week and
around the internet, I've seen it as low as $500.

I don't know if this is the best projector you could buy but for the
price and the fact that a replacement bulb only costs about $150 as
opposed to the usual $300 or so, it seems quite  a deal.  But if you
have more cash, I'm sure you could do better (smaller, better
contrast, etc.).
