Thanks for restating some of the history of this list
and reasserting some of your and Kim's vision for it.

I've been on the list continually for almost 13 years
now and a certain long-view perspective needs to be
voiced from time to time or we devolve into squabbling
and bickering over minutia.

Your post was refreshing in light of other recent posts.
