Oh trust me, my blood boils when I hear stuff like that. Not to cause a shit-storm but when the Republicans get up on their high horse about anti abortion and birth control and then counter that with statements like "Hunger is a great motivator." http://thinkprogress.org/2009/06/21/cynthia-davis-hunger/ Awesome. So what I get from that is, "Crap out as many kids as you want, just don't cry when your minimum wage (or lower sweatshop wage overseas) isn't enough to feed them. UNICEF should be by from time to time." I remember trick-or-treating for UNICEF when I was 5. 40 years later the problem only seems worse. Is pouring money and food into the situation the answer? I really feel that education and responsible birth control use is the only answer because hunger is indeed a good motivator.... to motivate someone who feels they were brought into a world that doesn't have anything for them to take it by force.
