hi Jack,

I'd guess the fault is the earthing within your amp,
not the edp at all.
(because you say zeroing the input volume doesn't kill the hum).

Philip's suggestion should work,
but your amp may be dangerous.

Ever hear of those scenarios where the guitarist gets electrocuted
when he touches the mic?

Yep, that could be you, suggest you get that amp checked out.
