I took it in the hand baggage to Rome in June without problems

it is about 80 cm in length. A licensed German (Hohner) clone of a
Steinberger GT guitar, but without transtrem - wouldn't work anyway with 
the
Fripp tuning that I use. And I added a midi pickup - glued it to the back
side :)
